1901 - all born Larling except as shown

George Toak    38 - ag lab b Snetterton
Mary Ann Toak    38
Ethel Louise Toak    15
Birtie G Toak    11
Jessie C Toak    10 (daughter)
Hilda E Toak    3

If you have access to the 1911 census image, you will spot something doesn't add up!

Class: RG13; Piece: 1867; Folio: 96; Page: 5

Looks like what doesn't add up is Ethel - born Ethel Louisa Kidd. She has at least one other Kidd sibling Ernest William (or vice versa) born c1882. She gives George as her father when she marries. though

I had found this Took/Kidd family before, but dismissed it for "geographic" reasons.

It's 40 miles to Kings Lynn from Snetterton/Thompson, which is possible but slightly worrying. Especially since George (and Archibald before him) had bee so very static. There are definitely possible, and (of course) the names and DOBs are a good fit.

But the research on the Took/Kidd possibility is valuable, so my heaarty thanks to those who did it.

There is a school record indexed
Arthur Took
born 1903
admitted 1909
Thompson National/Council School, Norfolk

If someone could take a look, see if there is a day/month of birth?

Appears that sister Hilda Took was also admitted to Thompson National School in 1909, and before that was at Larling School.

Bertie and Jessie also at Larling.

Well, indeed. That school record would appear to end any possible doubt as to the identification.

EXCELLENT news.

Arthur's grand-daughter (for whom I'm doing this research) will be very happy.
