Donald Fraser DOB 1/4/1837
« on: Wednesday 19 August 20 14:03 BST (UK) »
Hi

I have just taken over the family tree from my Dad and I am on Ancestry and Scottish People websites but seem to be hitting a brick wall with the death of Donald.

Our information is quite sparse on the family but I have the following:
He married Mary Urquhart on 1st June 1860 at Tarradale Inn, Urray the had 10 children:
Mary 1860, Ann (my great grandmother) 1862, John 1863, Kenneth 1866, Catherine/Kate 1869, Dolina/Dolly 1870, James 1872, Alexander 1875, Jemima 1878 and Duncan 1880, children born Urray, Knockbain and Fodderty.

If anyone has any ideas how I may find out about Donald's death and/or any other information, it would be much appreciated.

I have tried on find a grave but no luck.

Thank you
Denise

Is this Mary's death entry?

Mary FRASER - other name URQUHART
Age 82
1919
066/2 41
Gairloch Southern

If so, was husband Donald showing as alive or deceased?

When your direct ancestor Ann married, was father Donald showing as alive or deceased on her marriage register entry?

Hi Monica

Thank you for the welcome and your replies.

We have the death of Mary Fraser nee Urquhart on the 28th April 1901 as we tied this in with her son in law (George Duff) who registered her death.

Unfortunately, as far as we are aware Anne never married but it is a good idea as daughter Mary married George Duff in Dingwall 1885, I may try and research the other children and find out from their marriage certificates, thank you for the pointer  :)

The last record we have of Donald Fraser is the same as you, am struggling to find anything else for him after the 1901 census.  I have searched Scottish People and perhaps found a few likely candidates so I think I will just have to work my way through them after a little more research on the children.

It's a puzzle but all part of the fun!

Once again thank you for your help, really appreciated.

Denise
