I have located discharge document for James Howarth. I am wondering if more information can be gathered from the numbers and notes on the document also is there any significance in him being in Captain and Adjutant Kirbys Company?

Royal Artillery companies at that time were known by the name of their company commander, in this case Captain Kirby who also had the appointment of Adjutant.  Probably Captain Stephen Kirby appointed adjutant in 1807.  So no significance except it is identifying whose company in 6th Battalion he was in.

A note on the left says volunteer from reserve at Gosport (presumably before he joined - my guesswork).  He was discharged because the strength of his battalion was being reduced so he was being made redundant to use today's terms.
