Is there likely to be any other birth cert of an illegitimate baby born in Cork in 1912?

3rd one down, Michael Cotter

I am having such trouble linking him to a Mary Cotter in 1911/01 and to the right Murphy family who 'adopted' him soon after his birth, until he left 14 Rock Buildings in Oct 1928 to emigrate to Australia.

Many thanks

Carol

Only other possibility I can see is this one in 1911, mother Bridget

There may be no family connection between the Murphys and the Cotters to find.

I had one that puzzled me for ages, a boy down as nephew to head of house, turned out he wasn't blood related to anyone in the house. He was the nephew of the brother in law  of mother/wife of the house.

Thanks Sinann, but we know the workhouse birth of a Michael Cotter on the 2nd March 1912 is correct,as my contact in Australia is his daughter and she knew his date of birth.

The only other record will be his baptism but as he was likely brought for baptism by the workhouse staff it's unlikely to tell you any more. I'd usually say it may be on RootsIreland (subscription) but I don't think they have any Cork city records.

Workhouse records perhaps..
