Not sure what zone and allotment numbers mean but doesn't that pinpoint the exact spot?

Perhaps try contacting the cemetery directly and ask for more help.

Just because I looked, link to cemetery here (it is in Australia).

and  by 1981... 'it was thought that around a million burials had taken place at Rookwood.'

I did think that you would already have that information, so just put it for others as inquisitive as I am.

Unless you meant that you did contact the cemetery directly.

There's plenty of maps of various sections of Rookwood in the above pdf among its 74 pages.

 :)  Rookwood General Office : http://www.rookwoodcemetery.com.au/contact-us

OFFICE HOURS
Mon – Fri: 0730 – 1600
Sat: 0900 - 1300 *
Sun: 0900 – 1500 *

Public Holidays – Contact the office for opening hours

Their phone number is displayed.

IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER (So this info is current as at August 2020)   I have found the people in that office to be very calm and caring in how they offer to help, they are very knowledgeable,  and they have maps, but clearly with CoVid-19 they are not able to offer counter service face to face at the moment.

* The office is closed for face-to-face meetings due to COVID-19. A Client Services representative will be available via phone.
