Colliers' Delight & The Hewitt Arms
« on: Sunday 23 August 20 15:39 BST (UK) »
Hi guys, trying to find some information about two pubs, one is the Colliers' Delight, High Street, Pontypridd and the other is the Hewitt Arms , Penycoedcae, Pontypridd. Just some basic information really on the exact location of the Colliers' Delight Pub on High St., when they were pulled down and are there any photos available of these two pubs. Kind Regards, David

Hi
1881 Census has the Colliers Delight at 38, High Street, Llantritfaidre (?), Pontypridd.
No 34 was the Cross Inn and no 36 unoccupied.
1879 " To let, a shop, 36 High Street  near Colliers Delight Pontypridd".
Not sure if those numbers will help you in the present day though.

Welsh newspapers online  https://newspapers.library.wales

Put "collier's delight" (include the "   " as part of search key) in Search. Returns 13 hits - click on title of item to view.

Repeat search using "Hewitt's Arms" - 21 hits

pob lwc

I advised "collier's delight and hewitt's arms" - apostrophe "s". Also try "colliers delight and hewitts arms" without the apostrophe.
