    what is current waiting time for certificates from GRO. Are local registry offices open as normal.

Just got a marriage certificate and it was about 3 weeks.

Don't know about local offices I order mine on line.

I ordered 2 pdf birth certificates last Monday ( 17th). One became available yesterday and I'm still waiting for the other.

I've had a few older PDF certs appear in record time, but I ordered my sister's birth cert, which is a newer one and that's over a week late already.

The local registry offices are dependent on the rules in that particular area, for instance in Leeds you have to book an appointment to register a birth but you can register a death by phone. Other services are probably subject to similar restrictions.
