Margaret was also in Oldham in 1901 and 1911. The two families were  not far from each other.
I see I didn’t post the details - I thought I had  ::)

Oldham cemetery records here - you can see the names of others buried in the same grave.

Wow :o
You are all amazing. I have been searching for so long and suddenly I'm overwhelmed.

This does fit in with my mother's story that Robert O'Connors wife died, possibly in childbirth.

I'm amazed at how far apart these children were born, I was hoping they were all somewhere near Athlone  and maybe that is why i haven't found them.

Thanks very much to all concerned and can I just ask one more question? Does anybody have any idea where Robert and Hannah married?

The Mills are in England in 1891

Stansfield, Yorkshire
William Mills 29 Bobbin Turner, born Ireland
Ellen Millls 26 Ireland
Johnny Mills 8 Ireland
Annie Mills 7 Ireland
Mary E Mills 5 Ireland
Robert Mills 6 mo Cornwall
Annie O'Conner Lodger 16 Cotton Spinner Ireland

A possible birth reg for Robert in the district they are living (rather than Cornwall)
MILLS, ROBERT
Mother's Maiden Surname: CONNOR
GRO Reference: 1890  D Quarter in TODMORDEN  Volume 09A  Page 216

Suggest "Cornwall" may have been Cornholme near Todmorden. Haven't looked at census.

Not on Irish Genealogy.ie  Were they R.C.? They may have married before civil registration of Catholic marriages began in Ireland.

Reply #7 has Patrick Born 1860, Drumcree, Armagh.

I think his is the earliest birth we have found.

Registration for Catholic marriages began in 1864 so you would be looking at parish records.

You could try Drumcree to see if they married there but they did move around a lot.  :-\

It may be, but it doesn't say that.
