Hogans and Hincheys
« on: Tuesday 25 August 20 09:03 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for information on my 3x great grandparents Patrick Hogan and Bridget Hinchey from Luddenbeg, county Limerick. Years ago there was a website that posted birth records online that contained my family info but I can't find the website anymore. Is anyone familiar with the website or can you direct me to help me do research?
Thanks

Welcome to RootsChat nellyhogan
You don't give an idea of dates.
Quite a few more record sets have come online in recent years so although I don't know what site you are referring to perhaps you can find what you are looking for elsewhere.
This site has birth marriage and death certs, it's a free government site you just need to sign in and prove your not a robot.

This site has parish records but you can't search by name on it, the large genealogy companies such as Ancestry and Find My Past have searchable records for the parish registers but you need a subscription for the full search features.

Are the people you are looking for from a Hinchey Hogan marriage or are they two separate families?
I see Hinchys in Luggen Beg in 1901 and 1911 but I think the mother Mary's maiden name is Treacy, and the father Patrick.

Oh Thanks for the help. Patrick Hogan (b. 1810) and Bridget Hinchey (b. 1814) were the parents of James Michael Hogan ( my 2x great grandfather b. 1831) He came to America around 1849 with a brother Michael Hogan. And had other siblings Catherine (1833) and John (1838). The parents and sibling information I got from that website (which I can't remember what it was) a long time ago where someone had transcribed the records. I will check out the websites you suggested. Oh this website also listed Bridget Hinchey's parents as Patrick Hinchey and Catherine Crehan and her siblings were Denis, John, Jane and Catherine.
Thanks again

The Hinchy's are buried in Ludden graveyard

There are a few people here in Caherconlish that have connections to that family.

P.M. me and I will put you in contact with them
