Track and trace
« on: Tuesday 25 August 20 11:08 BST (UK) »
Government rules say cafes, restaurants etc should keep a list of customer contact details for 21 days so people can be notified if someone tests positive later for corona virus.
Note the word "should" - I have been surprised that various establishments do not do this eg M&S cafe - I asked environmental health and they said it was guidance not law so didn't have to be done!
Meanwhile local cafes are going the extra mile and taking these details.
Costa coffee yesterday just has a QR code on a poster that you are meant to scan - didn't see anyone do it  - and I hadn't got my phone on me anyway.
So basically it is going to be very hit and miss whether you are contacted!

Similarly i believe there is no actual requirement to provide your name and address details, although of course, if the establishment are taking them they can refuse entry.

However, how do they know you have provided the correct details?

The UK Government call this Test & Trace ;D

(Just been watching a Government Information Film on BBC re this)

Didn't "Track & Trace" disappear when the "world beating" app failed?

My husband and I went to a local pub/restaurant on 22 July for his birthday.  They had my name and 'phone number but that was all.  We've not been contacted so I guess all is well.
