Death also 1900 West Derby for William Stewart age 71 Years address 49 Romilly Street

You must probably have this possible birth William Stewart 27 December 1831
Little Dunkeld Perth
Father Alexander Stewart
Mother Catherine Robertson

Still doesn't help with finding the marriage  ???

Hi,

The birth certificates of the children say the following:

Catherine Stewart - Parents married Apr 1856, Berwick
Alexander Stewart - Parents married July 1855, Berwick on Tweed
Ellen Falconer Stewart - Parents married April 1855 Berwick
William Stewart - Parents married June 10, 1855, Berwick on Tweed.

Does not say England or Scotland. All different. I have tried looking both places.

I wasn't sure if you would have this or not but there is another child: Mary Ann Barbara Stewart b. 18 March 1867 Perth. On that birth is says 10 June 1855 Berwick Upon Tweed.

Perhaps they didn't get married or it was an irregular marriage? Try getting in touch with the Berwick-Upon-Tweed record office.

Hannah

This might be a possibility for Helen Falconer
Non Parochial Registers
Helen Falconer born 22 September 1831
Baptism 9 October 1831
Berwick Upon Tweed  Northumberland
Denomination Scotch Church
Father David Falconer
Mother Alison Markle

On the 1841/51 censuses Berwick Upon Tweed Northumberland

Rosie

This Helen is the sister of my ancestor, she died unmarried in 1854.

David Falconer's brother Alexander and his wife Agnes Redpath had a daughter Helen/Ellen, born March 14 1826. The family were non-conformists and marriages and baptisms don't often crop up in the Berwick Church of England registers - several of them were married in irregular cross-border marriages such as those at Lamberton Toll .
