so the records below are probably for the correct family.

Both parents match as in names If correct Mary was Mcloughlin / Mclaughlin from fallask also had the nickname Potts Mclaughlin to separate different mclaughlins bit like Smith 😁

Then I don't think we have the right family.

A tree on ancestry says that this Hannah (Leahy) Ryan Harkin was born 14 Feb 1869 in Whitechurch, Cork. The home person of the tree looks like her son  Michael F's grandson.

Do you have the civil registration of her birth? If so, could you please post the exact date, father's name, and mother's maiden name. The dob might not match the American records exactly, but it will help narrow down the search for this couple.

My mother had a friend named McLaughlin. Once I asked her (my mother) how her friend spelled her name. She said "Just the way it sounds."  --  a bit of Irish humor, I guess.
