Hi
I am trying to figure out the location written on the birth record in Hobart, Tasmania.
This record is for a male birth father John Williams mother Eliza Rose. Unfortunely Eliza Rose died on 28th August. He was born on the 8th.
Here is the record: https://stors.tas.gov.au/RGD33-1-5$init=RGD33-1-5-P591
LAST record at the bottom of the page. Location is written under Informant Column: John William (his mark X) Father ? ?

Image of words I want deciphered also attached.
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks
Stephanie.

Given the way the writer's 'o' isn't always joined up into a loop (see 'John'), I wondered about Stony Steps. Apparently this is a place or area in Hobart, though the name now seems to be preserved as Stoney Steps Road.

Here's a picture of it in about 1870, with an alternative title of Waterworks Valley (click the links or thumbnail for a larger version):

Researching among others:
Bartle, Bilton, Bingley, Campbell, Craven, Emmott, Harcourt, Hirst, Kellet(t), Kennedy,
Meaburn, Mennile/Meynell, Metcalf(e), Palliser, Robinson, Rutter, Shipley, Stow, Wilkinson
