Dorset Family History Society's On-Line Talk
« on: Wednesday 26 August 20 15:48 BST (UK) »
Dorset Family History Society is hosting an on-line talk on Tuesday 20th October 2020 from 7.30pm - 9.30pm (approx.)

ON-LINE SPEAKER IS LES MITCHINSON talking on NAVAL RECORDS

Les joins us again to take us on another informative discovery journey, explaining how naval records have evolved from the 18th century, through to the modern day. He will describe the records, explain where they are held, and which ones are available to view on line. He will also explain the different approach to researching a naval officer from that of a naval rating.

After a naval career himself, Les Mitchinson became a professionally qualified genealogist, a course Tutor with the IHGS and has been appointed their Director of Education. He also has his own business in Family History helping clients from around the world research their families.

To access the talk please email liaison@dorsetfhs.org.uk from the week before. An invitation will be sent out with sign in details, and then sign in to Zoom from 7.15pm on the night. The Society would welcome a voluntary contribution (usually £3) towards the cost via our website.  Thank you.
