Yes it will be interesting to know what is on the 1911 census.

There is also a Yorkshire BMD -- BUT unfortunately it is nowhere near as comprehensive as it's Lancashire equivalent.

Maiden Stone has a good point -- was this a place formerly in Lancashire maybe?
Places of interest;
Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Southern Ireland, Scotland.

Some parishes now in Yorkshire (e.g. Todmorden) are on Lancashire Online Parish Clerks website.

I used Lancashire (rather than Yorkshire) in error.   1911 is not helpful in so far the infant Walter is living with an unknown family.   I can't  use names with this posting to shield descendants still alive.

Many thanks for your helpful replies.

Todmorden confused me for a long time as the county boundary ran through the middle! The area I was looking at, Langfield & Walsden, were Lancashire but where they were buried at Cross Stone was in Yorkshire. I think it was in the 1840's it became all Yorkshire

Todmorden has been "firmly in Yorkshire" since 1888 according to "Our Town & Our History" on Todmorden Information Centre website https://www.visittodmorden.co.uk/history.html#/
Gerry, you could ask for this to be moved to the Yorkshire board.

Thanks 'Maiden Stone' but I'm now closing this thread.
