Burial Look Up for 1938 if possible please.
« on: Friday 28 August 20 21:51 BST (UK) »
First time I have posted on the Nottinghamshire boards as most of my ancestors originate from Leicester. However I believe Emily Purday (nee Hall) born circa 1890 in Leicester may have passed away December quarter of 1938 aged 49 in Basford. Does anyone have access to records who could kindly carry out a burial Look Up for me please.

She married Fred Purday in Leicester in 1920 but I have been unable to find any mention or record for her after this event. I have checked the 1939 Register without success.

Process of elimination has led me to believe she may have moved to Basford as there is also a death record for Freddy Purday in Basford in the December quarter of 1972.

Would appreciate any help and assistance.

Many thanks in anticipation  ;)

Steve

Freddy Purday was born June qtr 1895 per freebmd.  There is a 1939 entry one year out which confirms his marital status

The Basford RD covered many areas.  You would need to establish exactly where she died

Freddy left a will - shown as Frederick.

Thank you CaroleW for your reply and the information you enclose.

I was aware of the Basford RD area coverage but was also hoping someone might have a record or detail from their own family tree archive using just the name and details I supplied. I`ve tried this before on the Leicester boards often with great success from some of the lovely people replying to my Look Up request, with this in mind I thought I might be lucky enough for the same to happen on this occasion.  ;)

I did see the probate record then scratched my head wondering if Freddy is actually Emily`s husband as he appears to be last living in Loughborough some 20 odd miles away from Basford.

I thought a Burial Look Up for Emily might supply the answers to the outstanding queries.

Many thanks Steve  ;)

A tree on Ancestry has him married to Emily Hall & 2 children born to the marriage

John Ernest W 15.5.1923 - 2005
Thomas Arthur Richard 13.4.1925 - 1985

No mention of Emily's death

Thank you very much CaroleW for your continued help and interest.  ;D

I haven`t had subscription to Ancestry for four or five years due to the lack of fresh information to follow up so your reply giving details of children is new to me.

Many thanks Steve  ;)
