The "degrees prohibited" back then may be considered perfectly OK these days - so more info needed before Tutt Tutting.

On the wall of the church is a list of who cannot marry one another .I have a photo somewhere. not that I'll find it lol

I find that awful to be honest,  I have a marriage where a man married his sister in law, went to a london to  do so and on the birth of the child it is shown in so uncertain terms this was an unlawful marriage, thank goidness things have moved on.
