Lissy M, my apologies for not acknowledging your post, I hadn't seen it, due probably to the fact that you posted two minutes before me! I was probably still typing. We regular participants off the diary threads can't take credit for it, it was Trystan who started at the beginning of lockdown and we carried on with it. The support I've received through the diaries has been tremendous, I appreciate it so much. Look forward to reading about what's been happening in your day. River Tyne Lass has already started the Sunday diary!

Mowsehowse, I'm assuming you mean Preston sands, it would be a bit of a hike from your area to Lancashire!  ;) ;D Sounds like a lovely walk, hope your community cafe opens before too long.

I'll see how the acrylic pour turns out, I'm thinking of adding some bits to make it a picture rather than just an abstract painting as it is now. I've done a couple of others like that, used the acrylic pour as a base and added to it. We'll see.

I must admit I  haven't contributed to any  great extent to  the  "Diary" but I have watched it almost every day, it has been very interesting and I am totally amazed at how much some people cram into one day, puts me to be shame to be honest although I am by no means lazy.

Enjoy it Lissy

Well I don’t know what has happened but a long epistle has gone as a PM to Mowsiehowse, why I do not know, how can I post it to the board?
Just pressed SEND .
I will try to put it on the Forum.
Oh dear gremlins in the works!

Well.... I know what you mean I've just written a short post and when I tried to post it... it said I'd only posted 10aeconds ago and to try again...
When I tried again it disappeared. 😤😤
Not that it said much apart from commiserating with you about posts going elsewhere or not at all!
I'm sure someone will be able to tell you how it could be posted without having to restype it all!
I'll try again...

I had the same Gremlin this week, is it doing the rounds?, it is so annoying when a long message is written and just vanishes into thin air  ,   must be a big black hole full off un- sent emails and messages,  just think, they might all turn up   one day, what a confusion that will be

It certainly is LM.... technology baffles me sometimes...
But there again we would t. E able to all communicate like this within minutes of responses with people we don't know and all over the world...
So how lucky we are compared to our ancestor  who wrote letters and in something cases waited months for replies.. or didn't get any at all!

I have birthday cards here written on the day of  the persons birthday, posted that morning  and they arrived the same day with birthday greetings,  amazing isn't it I ?,  would say about  beginning of 1900's but in those days I think they had 2 if not 3 posts a day locally

Modern technology when working is fantastic

I remember when we had two posts a day, but that was in larger towns and not to anyone out of the country!

When we lived abroad (1950's) my father used to have the newspapers sent to him, they came on airmail paper and up to a month out of date but he still enjoyed reading them.... sadly on one occasion we went out he left the papers lying around and on our return we found lots of bits strewed all over the living room and the dog sitting in the middle looking very pleased with herself!. He was less than pleased!
