Hi Luke
I take it you know your great uncle was in France from 26 May 1916 to 10 July 1917 from his pension records?
Over 60% plus of service and pension records were destroyed by the consequences of bombing in WW11 so it is only a few lucky people whi find anything other than the Medal and Award records and the Medal index cards which very rarely have any personal information.
You know he was in the East Yorkshire regiment but unless he did something heroic or was an officer then probably the only information you will find is the war diary for his regiment which will, in general terms, tell you where they were between those dates.
The National Archives site has the war diaries. Here is their guide
https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/help-with-your-research/research-guides/british-army-operations-first-world-war/
The Service Medal and Award Roll says he was a private in the 7th and 10th battalions of the East Yorkshire regiment so that helps narrow it down.

Just to add a snippet, his SWB states he attested 25/11/1915 quite possibly under the Derby scheme.

According to his pension record he sustained a gunshot wound to the chest 22 June 1917. A couple of pages in under " Report of Medical Board " it states " in action June 1917 Arras France ."

I was just about to post this when I saw your reply;
Although you can't say for sure when he received his wounds he would have moved through the
medical chain quite quickly.
The month of July was quiet for the 10/E. Yorks so you need to look at the last engagement which was
on the 22/23rd. of June.
On this date they were involved in a large raid on the German trench system E. of Bailleul just N.E. of Arras.
The diary has a comprehensive write up on it.
