Hello from Newcastle upon Tyne, have taken Ancestry Worldwide, without success, to try and find the birth record of the above named, believed to be a son of Alexander Lawrie and Jane McDade, born around 1935 in Ontario and died 1995, same city, Alexander is my 2nd Gt Uncle and I know he and his wife emigrated to Canada around 1912, and only records of birth/census for Canada are up to 1921. Greatly appreciate any help/suggestions, Thank Bill

Hello and Thanks, yes the death record matches who am trying to trace, but my request is also on behalf of another family member who cannot find the birth record either, he is closer to RW than me, and another helpful person has just indicated that birth records for 1935 are not available yet, so seem to be stuck for time being, Thank you for helping

It explains who and what you need to be able to get a birth certificate of a deceased person in that time frame.

Have you got the obituaries for the parents ?  Someone might be able to help with that if you haven't ?

Sandra, thanks and yes I read that link, and passed on to 2 family members, who are closer  to the deceased than me. One is in Canada but only very recently started her searches and of course like most of us didn't ask any questions etc before, and was pretty adamant we were not related owing to variations in that family name of Lawrie/Laurie till I explained in full the connection.
The other does not have worldwide subs, twas this one that asked me the question, but explained what the link was about and what is required, leaving up to them now. I only very recently took up an Ancestry Worldwide sub, wish I had done this few years back, so much more information to hand.

Forgot to add I have the death record for Alexander Lawrie, died April 9  1944 which was able to find, and passing that to cousin who lives in Canada for her searches.

Brantford Library maintains its own bmd listings which can viewed online.  The Brantford Expositor is also there and you can ask for a copy of his obit the below will have the page number.
