You have 1987, I take it should be 1957?

Do you have any more details of Varie Keane - place and date of birth/death?  It is an odd name - could it be Valerie?

Could you confirm/answer the following:

1 - Was the surname definitely spelled "Keane". Or, could it have been something like Keen/Kene/Cain etc

2 - Was "Varie Keane" definitely a man? Or, did Agnes stay unmarried and leave Glasgow because Varie was not a man?

3 - Where did Agnes and Varie meet? In the UK or in SA or ...?

Somewhere I have lost the plot  ???

Who is Agnes? I assumed Varie was female going on the initial post.  Is there another post on this which makes things clearer?

Thanks.

A correction to the previous posts - G.V. Keane went to Cape Town on the ship's list, not to Beira.
