Joseph Nicholas Cafferata
« on: Tuesday 01 September 20 11:28 BST (UK) »
Thanks to Sandra, I am getting ahead in my seach for the Canadian Cafferatas, I now have another quest.
I'm looking for birth details for Joseph Nicholas Cafferata 1889-1907. Parents Joseph Waterworth Cafferata and Anne Wilson.
I can find him in the 1891 census with NWT listed as birth place and can find the record of his death but not of his birth.
Joseph Waterworth Cafferata and Anne Wilson had 4 children altogether but Saskatchewan birth indexes only show the other 3.
Can anyone help?

Thanks for that, the link you posted is for his burial in 1907, which I already have. It's his birth records that are evading me.

Gave it another go but no birth record for Joseph Nicholas Cafferata.  Was he  a twin with Margaret Wilson Cafferata 28/12/1889 or was he born a little earlier between Eleanor and Margaret

It's an intriguing idea, but I don't think Joseph Nicholas was a twin - in the 1891 census all the children were given different ages and I would hope that a parent would give twins the same age!
Thanks for looking though. I have manually trawled through FamilySearch.org Catholic Church records for the period without success so far.

That looks like him, it puts him between Eleanor (29 May 1887) and Margaret (28 Dec 1889). Both the daughter's ages are correct on the census, so Joseph was probably born in 1888, after 6 April. The Canadian 1891 census was taken on 6 April.

Hi!
My name is Leslie Elizabeth Roosa.  Margaret Cafferata is my Grandmother on my fathers side.  She is not a twin.  What information are you specifically looking for?  I do have some of the family history.

Hi Leslie
There are a couple of pieces of information I'm looking for, specifically the dates of birth for your grandmother's brother, Joseph Nicholas and, if you have it, the date of birth of your great grandmother Anne née Wilson. I would also be interested in any other information you know about them as a family.
Your great grandfather, Joseph Waterworth Cafferata was the younger brother of my great great grandfather, Redmond Parker Cafferata. The picture I use on my profile would be that of your great great grandfather William Cafferata.
