Thoughts on what this occupation might be.
« on: Tuesday 01 September 20 14:34 BST (UK) »
Didn't post this in the handwriting section because I can actually read it, I just don't know what it means.

1939 Register; Reference: RG 101/4286C

Looking at the record for Vivian Booth who lives in Bolton it describes her as 'Clerk Flod and Jute Mero'.

It's likely she worked in the fabric industry in Bolton, based on her location and also what her father did before he died. I am assuming that is what the 'jute' refers to. I've no idea what the rest might mean.

An outside possibility is that her step-father was a fishmonger, but he'd died by this point as well.

Thank you
;D Doing my best, but frequently wrong ;D
:-* My thanks to everyone who helps me, you are all marvellous :-*

I was just about to reply but Jan beat me to it. The fold of the book covers the probable ch abbreviation of Merchant.

I agree with Clerk Flax too. :)
