Possible date for this photo?

[Old Bristolian]

This is rather an unusual photo, but the only one I have of my great grandfather, Stephen Bumstead. He died in 1903 and I think this may have been produced after that with the image taken from a group photograph. I've seen many photos of works groups from the late 19th century. I've included the whole of the photo as I have it - it is on thick card with nothing on the back. Perhaps the photographic studio dates might point to my theory being the correct one,

Theres two references to,  Butler, James M (Late A & G Taylor) 1898 Only entry, Baldwin Street Bristol.

Taylor, A & G
1879 , 1 Baldwin Street
1907 Last entry 58 Baldwin Street

So I guess the photo will be between those two dates.
