Uncle in RAF
« on: Tuesday 01 September 20 15:21 BST (UK) »
My Uncle who has just  died was born in 1931.  We are trying  to find any details  for him in the RAF to speak of at his funeral, we aren`t sure where he might had been or even what his role was.
In 1997 he was awarded the MBE for services to the RAF Charity
I have found  a name, C R Cuthbert which could be him with the number 2560067,  1951 RAF.
Can anyone help or advise where we can find more information.
Thanks.

My condolences on the loss of your uncle.

His record will be with the MOD, not online. The link above gives details of how to apply but if you phone and explain the situation you might get his record in time for the funeral.

Thanks,
I don`t think the MOD will get results in time,  but all we really wanted to know was where he was based and in what role.
