Why is Ruins Lane called Ruins Lane?
« on: Thursday 03 September 20 00:35 BST (UK) »
I've been researching some ancestors who lived in Ruins Lane in Harwood, Lancashire in the 1870s. I was wondering why Ruins Lane had that name, I'm assuming it went past some ruins at some point but ruins of what?

I haven't been able to find anything online, was just wondering if anyone local knew.
;D Doing my best, but frequently wrong ;D
:-* My thanks to everyone who helps me, you are all marvellous :-*
