I just googled when the age pension started in England, January 1909.
So it would be a Army Pension George was getting.

George Lane born c 1837 Shoreditch, London
Pension Admission or Examination Date: 25 Aug 1874
Regiment:   60th Foot 1 Ba.

I cant look at image as dont have the right sub, its available on Fold3 which I have never used.
