Thomas Weir born 1819

I am asking for help for finding a birth/baptismal record for my Great great grandfather Thomas WEIR born abt 1819 in parish of St Marys, Athlone, Westmeath. I have these details from his Military records when he was a Gunner, 1841-1862.

Do you have his father’s name from his marriage?

Is he the one who marries Mary Ann Hullahan in 1850 at St Francis Xavier, Liverpool?
Civil registration is West Derby.
His parents are named as John and Ann Weir so that might be useful.

I can see that you have old searches for Thomas.

There is a published tree which has various names and sources. It centres on the son John Born 1851.

Thomas and Mary Ann who I have mentioned are at 1851 2184 244/7
Thomas Weir is a Soldier in ‘Royal Artillery‘.
John is 1 month old and born Liverpool.

There is also a sister, Ann Weir, 25 yrs with him.

This record is used in the tree but then in later censuses , there is different information used in the tree.

It might be best to start where you have confirmed information.

Thank-you for your interest and help in trying to locate a baptismal/birth cert for Thomas. I tried looking through those records,  they are very difficult to read, no luck as yet.
Yes that is the Thomas I am seeking info for.
The Army records never mentioned his actual date of birth nor any marriage or children, is that strange?

I have had another look at the Family tree you mentioned and think they are incorrect with some of it, I will make contact and discuss this with the owner.

I did see a mention of Thomas Weir with birth/discharge dates same as his attestation  on another website under UK Royal Hospital,Chelsea Pensioner Admissions/Discharges 1715-1925.
 
Is there a chance anyone can get me this records at all please?

I don’t yet understand how this family links to the one I posted for 1851 in Liverpool.

I can’t see Mary Jane’s birth but the others seem to have mother with the name Holland  but they are younger than her.
