Victor may have died after 1970 - I'm quite sure the INSEE database (Matchid) is incomplete as my parents-in-law's deaths and those of other members of my husband's family aren't in it.

I thought it was complete, but Geneanet says that some certificates are missing , specially in the seventies.

Yes, I thought it would be but realised it wasn't when I found some people I was knew for a fact were dead were missing!

Thank you so much. We have never needed to use any French records before and are really struggling you have just been so helpful we are so so thankful.

British records generally we can muddle through along with eastern European Jewish records but this stumped us. Thank you again
