I am looking for info on Margaret Leonard nee Kiely background. This is her in the 1900 census

190 Wayne Street, Jersey City is given as her address in the Evening Journal regarding her death.

It would be great to find parents names or immigration papers.

The 1900 census states Margaret immigrated in 1890 and was born about 1870.

This looks like it could be her immigrating in 1890 with what appears to her sister? Eliza?

One of the news clippings about her death stated her husband John knew of Maggie's condition, but left anyway, and to  her relatives to bury the body and take care of the two children. This would indicate she had family in the area. Her sister Eliza?

I see an Elizabeth Kiely marrying a Simon Coghlan in 1892, parents names are listed.

This would be them in 1900/1905/1910 census. Elizabeth's age is about right, and she immigrated in 1890. Also living with them in 1900 & 1905 is her uncle, Patrick Kieley. In the 1900 census there are several other Kieley/Kiley living with them.

But Michael Kiely and Elizabeth Shields might have had a daughter Margaret who married Michael Healy 16 October 1898, in Manhattan.

This would eliminate your Maggie (Kiely) Leonard from being their daughter.
Unless there were two couples with these same names with daughters in Manhattan. - which is not at all impossible.

This could be the Thomas Kiely boarding with the Coughlin family in 1900:
son Thomas b 26 Sep 1877, Limerick
their daughter Elizabeth baptized 13 February 1867, Mungret, Limerick
their daughter Margaret baptized 12 April 1871, Mungret, Limerick

So their Margaret was younger than her sister. Which means that this Maggie could still be yours, arriving with her own sister Eliza.

This looks like it could be her immigrating in 1890 with what appears to her sister? Eliza?
