Letter to Mary Dial 26 October 1880.
« on: Tuesday 08 September 20 00:35 BST (UK) »
This is part of a letter written to my great grandmother following the birth of her first child. I have been able to transcribe almost all of it but simply can't work out one word in this passage:

Be very careful darling Marie one feels so well and strong sometimes and apt to strain the slowly returning strength. I hope Mr. Dial won’t let others near(?) you, people mean kindly but are so indiscreet.

The word after "won't let others" is the problem for me. I have no reference in similar words in the letter, and it's possible that the end of the word has been cut off. I've tried thinking of substitute words but have drawn a blank.

Any help from the talented RootsChat community gratefully received.

Thanks,
           Peter

I wondered if the word before 'tire' might begin with 'H', and thus be a name. Helen, perhaps?
