If God is a spider..... that's a good one to muse on when I have nothing better to do!!  ;D

You are SO right though, feeling you have some control over an issue is a big help.

Your FH sounds a lovely little chap, one whom you must be very proud of!
I'm very impressed with all your shed clearing out activities too...
Life does have to go on but in these trying times some days it seems harder than others...
The analogy of 'If God is a spider.. certainly gives food for thought!

He responds to calm requests and firm clear instructions.

That applies to most people and dogs. Cats and goats need to be persuaded that what you want them to do will benefit them or was their own idea. Dogs and very young children pay attention to the faces of their human carers.

Yes, his daddy very occasionally is a bit “firmer“ than usual, but he knows his little boy so well.
However FH looks sooooo down, and gets my sympathy vote every time.
But also knows how to get sympathy votes.!
Daddy “ reads “ FH very well.
Mummy is very calm ,my daughter is FH’s grandma” Nanny” she reads him too.
She does not wrap thing up , knows when FH is starting to manipulate.
He doesn’t stand a chance then.
My OH was a lovely Daddy but not so involved as my grandson , Young men are these days but then I did not work when ours were small .
OH  home for five thirty, evening meal all together then children washed and in bed for seven thirty latest.
I never remember him bathing them or putting to bed, but he worked hard
and with no car walked to work to save money.
My grandson and FH have baths together ,the bathroom is like a hippopotamus pool ,water has been known to come through the kitchen ceiling below!
Mind you ours were bathed in front of the fire (,icicles inside the bathroom window were not uncommon!)
Pyjamas  on the fire guard ,warming .
Can see my OH in the baby bath with them! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ::) NOT!

According to "Dog Tales: the Making of Man's Best Friend", BBC4, Tuesday evening, dogs evolved to raise their eyebrows like babies to look more appealing to humans. I didn't watch the programme so I can't explain the basis of the theory.
