Pilling Hill House Huddersfield
« on: Wednesday 09 September 20 16:52 BST (UK) »
Whilst researching pictures in a victorian album, I have come across this picture of a lady reading outside her home, the glass above the door says Pilling Hill. On the reverse it says Huddersfield. I cannot find anything about this property and wondered if anyone had heard of it or knew of its history, many thanks

Is it this building?

ADDED: From the blurb
Enriched in history, Longroyds and Pilling House Residential Care Home in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire is made up of two 100-year-old houses that retain many of their period features, making them a truly unique living experience. Set in large grounds and based on the fringe of Skelmanthorpe, the homes offer an extremely high level of care in beautiful nostalgic surroundings. Although our home lies within the countryside, Longroyds and Pilling House is situated within a residential location and is within walking distance of local amenities.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

I think Pilling House* and its neighbour Long Royds were owned by my ancestral Field family of Skelmanthorpe.

Please could you say a bit more about the photo album?

*But is Pilling Hill a different house perhaps? It would be helpful to see a scan of the picture.
