Furnandiz/Furnandis (Fernandes), Hull

Has anyone researched into this family? It would appear my ancestor Joseph b. 1789 Madeira settled in Hull and married Jane Bravender/Bravener.

I have just seen a message that you put on here with regard to Joseph Fernanders and Jane Bravender.

This couple are my direct line relatives, and I have been researching them for quite a few years.
I go back to the marriage in Hull in 1814,  but do not have any positive leads earlier than that date.

I'm the person referred to by Christopher earlier in this thread & replied to his private message sent to me at Ancestry last year. He had confused two Emily Burtons who both married in 1900. One was the daughter of William Burton & Hannah Furnandiz & married William Jones in Driffield Reg. Dist. The other married Alfred Jacketts in Sculcoates Reg. Dist. & Alfred was Christopher's relative.

Christopher subsequently sent for the marriage certificate for Emily & Alfred which revealed her father to be Matthew, not William. Unfortunately, therefore we are not related after all!

I think you & I might have previously have been in contact but can't remember exactly how or when! I am on Ancestry, although I only have a basic direct ancestor tree there at present. I have, with a fair degree of certainty, been able to trace a baptism for Jane Bravender via a mix of traditional research & DNA matching. If you're interested please get back to me & I can tell you more.
