what is the word between Shelden and Buried please.

It might be poaper, ie pauper.

Does it appear anywhere else, and are there any other dodgy spellings?

Bother. I was hoping it might be an occupation,  as there is another entry that says Bailiff.
There are a couple of others but they have a different P. Hence my hope

The ones in the second clip may be by someone else - the writing is much more upright, even though the spelling is the same. The fact that one of the 'poapers' there is a woman may suggest it's not an occupation.

Are you reading the entry below John Sheldon as 'Bailiff', or did you find it somewhere else? The one below J.S. is 'Batchelor' - not strictly relevant to a burial, but presumably to distinguish him from another of the same name.

Agree with Arthur - the word in question is 'poaper' (the squiggle at the end is a contracted form of 'er'.)

I've had a look at the actual page, and I can't see the word bailiff anywhere among the burials
