56 Crescent Street, Montreal, Quebec

I am not sure if this is the forum for my question, but I thought I would ask. I am wondering if number 56 Crescent Street (French: Rue Crescent) in Montreal, Quebec had been re-numbered since 1890. My great-grandparents occupied a 12 room house in which the upper half of the basement was above ground. I understand that Crescent Street today is full of pubs, restaurants and night clubs. Thank you in advance.

You can try the old Montreal directories through the years.  You can either go by street name or surname.

Thank you. I was able to narrow it down to being re-numbered in 1927 to 1238 Crescent Street.

If you put 1238 Crescent Street into Google Maps you can see exactly what is there now.

Yes I did that and found the Downtown Crescent Night Life Hotel is located at 1238 Crescent Street today. Thank you.

I knew the area well in the late 70's and early 80's as I worked a few streets over....after work drinks.
