Ellen Naylor (nee Walmsley)
« on: Sunday 13 September 20 12:17 BST (UK) »
Today is the 180th anniversary of her birth.

She was born in Newton-in-Makerfield on 13th Sept 1840 (no specific address given) and was baptised at St Peter's on 20 Sept 1840, the daughter of William & Betty.

Her marriage to Joseph Naylor (a tailor) took place on 09th Dec 1860 at Warrington, St Elphin. (He died 06th Sept 1872, aged 38.)

In 1901 census (a widow) her address in Newton in Makerfield, is listed as 35 Back Gas Street but on her death certificate, dated 02nd May 1909, her usual address is listed as 47 Gas Street, Newton-in-Makerfield; she'd died at the Warrington Workhouse.

Her son, Thomas Naylor of Duke Street, Earlestown is listed as the informant.

I have been unable to locate the burial location of this ancestor.

Any help most welcome, thank you!

Thanks for the link garstonite. I thought I'd test it out by searching for my grandmother's record as I know she died in 1954 and is buried in Warrington cemetery. I enter 1954 in the Burial/Cremation date field but it comes back with "Invalid date!". What am I doing wrong?

The search works OK

I just keyed in Ellen Naylor and it returned one record which is obviously not who you seek

Thanks Biggles50 but that doesn't explain the "Invalid Date!". I did a search of your Ellen Naylor with a date of 1955 and it too said "Invalid Date!". Why?

It wants a date like 01/01/1955
You can put in a range.

Thanks jonw65. It seems strange that they insist on such an exact date format when the whole point of the search is to find the exact burial date! Much better to do it the Ancestry or Find My Past way eg. 1955 =/- 5 years.

The above link is worth a read, as absence of a Burial Record might be due to other arrangements.
