Thanks, yes I do have that and mail from her granddaughter which says she agrees. Not that I don't believe her, I do, but this little bit of glue was missing - and you just supplied it  with that obit !:-)
I am anal about this stuff, I like it to all add up before I submit it to the main Shetlanders and their descendants tree for consideration to be included on the site.
 I love family 'lore' never discount it, but really want to back it up with records that add up to the same scenario

Yes, thanks, I have all the currently available census returns etc etc. It was just confirmation of her death and her nearest relatives to confirm it was the correct person I was missing.

I am getting greedy now :-)

May I ask if its possible to look in your resources to see if you can find anything in the old Canada newspapers for the death of her eldest son Robert Caldwell BATES who died 7th Sept 1927, Swift Current, Saskatchewan. He was born c 1911 so was only in his teens when he died,.
