Plumbridge/Plumridge
« on: Sunday 13 September 20 19:00 BST (UK) »
Hi, does anyone have sight of the marriage registers for Walmer, Kent?
I need to see in the marriage between Edward Plumridge and Ann Kinnaird in June 1848, to see if it is a link to my family tree.
Many thanks.
Browning, Kinnard, Turner, Uden, Palmer, Lawrence.

"Hi Christine53,
I don’t think there was a marriage. I don’t think she married Edward Plumbridge because Edward jnr took his mother’s surname: Cannard/Kinnard. I hope that makes sense."

So where did the Walmer marriage come from? I cannot see it or anything like it on freebmd.
There's an entry for Banns at Walmer St Mary for 06 AUGUST 1848.

No annotation in the margin that the marriage actually took place, unlike other entries on the page

There are banns for the marriage on findmypast and a listing of the marriage from family search but no actual marriage from the Walmer records that I can see.

Thank you, panda40 and Top-the-hill for finding out that the listing was only for banns not a marriage.
The plot thickens. There can't be many Plumridge/Kinnard records so I will assume that these are same people who are the parents of Edward Kinnard. Although I don't know what they were doing in Walmer.
trish1120 —Edward, son of Ann Cannard was born in the Workhouse and Edward Plumbridge named as Father on baptism record. What happened to Edward Plumbridge and why didn't his son take his surname?

Was he named as father on b/c?

His birth is registered as Cannard
