42 Pinewood Avenue Toronto
« on: Monday 14 September 20 16:37 BST (UK) »
Not 100% sure of the house number, but this house and the one beside it have been replaced by a park that goes all the way back to the next street. Is anyone familiar enough with this street to know what happened to the homes that used to be there. My sister was there in 1956 for sure.

In your previous thread, I suggested contacting the Toronto library to check local directories for 1956 and after.   The Toronto Directories are now online...up to 1969.

1956 - all the houses between 38 and 50 are occupied.
https://archive.org/details/torontocitydirectory1956/page/n2187/mode/2up

1964 - all still occupied
https://archive.org/details/torontocitydirectory1964/page/542/mode/2up

1966 - number 42 has a line next to it
https://archive.org/details/torontocitydirectory1966/page/632/mode/2up

1967 - numbers 38, 40, 42 have lines next to them, and number 44 says vacant.
https://archive.org/details/torontocitydirectory1967/page/496/mode/2up

1968 - 38 is occupied, so is 44, but 40 and 42 still have lines next to them
https://archive.org/details/torontocitydirectory1968/page/526/mode/2up

1969 - 40 and 42 have lines next to them.
https://archive.org/details/torontocitydirectory1969/page/568/mode/2up

Looks like the changes happened after 1964

Thanks for these directory entries. That helps a lot as I am not able to visit libraries directly.

Thank too to everyone else for their helpful info.  This line of inquiry is now closed.

You are welcome. :)

In case you ever need to search any other years...here is the link to the digital Toronto directories collection at the Toronto Library.

Thanks very much RK.  I have bookmarked the entry as I'm sure it will be needed in future.

The thought is greatly appreciated.
