« on: Monday 14 September 20 19:06 BST (UK) »
I have not ordered a certificate for ages,  had a really interesting death I needed and ordered one on the 2nd September,  for computer viewing, what times should I be expecting to receive it, are delays very long.

I think they are beginning to catch up.  One person had their pdf delivered in two days.  I would imagine it depends on how many staff there are at the GRO.  It may vary from day to day.

I'm afraid we all have to be patient and wait for the GRO to send notification that the pdf is available to download.

I ordered 2 recently, a birth and death.  The birth arrived a couple of days early and the death certificate was showing being prepared but there was another 6 day wait (including weekend) taking it 2 days overdue.  Not worried as both were timely and pleased I ordered both.

Birth confirmed the mother was an unmarried daughter of the householder (Child’s burial said otherwise)

Death was surprising but very important for family medical history.

Ps both were pdf copies.

Got mine this morning, it gave me some answers but not all..

In a weird way ,it reminded me of the the expectations I had years ago , then I ordered far too many ..

I ordered a marriage certificate on 7 September, with despatch date (by post) said to be 14th.  It arrived 15th.

I've just received 2 pdfs which I ordered just 3 days ago. Unfortunately one of them should have been for a birth in 1850 and I received a death for someone else in 1902 instead !

That would be really annoying, at least you did not have to wait  too long

I ordered a batch (5) of pdf deaths - yesterday morning at 10.16, the 'estimated' dispatch date they provided was 29th Sept.

The mails to say they were available for download arrived in my inbox at 14.12 today!

Very impressive :-)

I also placed a separate order for 2 births pdfs a few hours later, no idea if they will come as quickly but I'll be checking my mail later this afternoon just in case :-)
