Connor family Ballinrobe
« on: Wednesday 16 September 20 05:40 BST (UK) »
Hi folks,
While researching my family tree, I spoke to a distant relative who told me of a gang of workers who were brought from their base in Ballinrobe, Mayo, by Elizabeth Cuffe to Pakinham Hall, Castlepollard as a gift to her new husband, Thomas Pakinham. This was in 1740. Many years ago while visiting the Kiltoom, Castlepollard area more than one elderly person retold a similar tale.
Can anyone put meat on these bones? My particular family is the Connor family, my grandfather being the last to be born in the worker's cottage on the Pakenham estate.
