My wife has Burgess who lived just south of the Horseshoe Pass a few houses from a school. That was in the early 70's so I don't remember much.

does record of william born 1682 llantysilio give the name of his mother please. wife of robert.

Was this 1970 ? If so it's unlikely to be the same branch. Many moved to Canada/USA before then and others were nearer Rhyl.  They originated in Kirkcudbrightshire and moved down to North Wales in the 1830s.
