Trying to track down David Lipman between 1901 and 1930
« on: Wednesday 16 September 20 14:27 BST (UK) »
Hello,

I’ve not had any luck finding David for these 29 years. In 1901 he is living with his parents in Forest Gate. His father Benjamin died in Forest Gate in 1910. There’s no sign of him in 1911, and David wasn’t in WW1 I understand, due to a heart problem. I see him next in 1930, living at 7 Claremont Mews with his sister Kate according to the London Electoral Register. He eventually moves with her to 8 River Street in Finsbury, but in 1935 Kate is gone and he’s living with his wife, whom he had married that year at Finsbury Register Office.

I’d appreciate any help!

There is a school record for him showing birth 05/09/1878

As a matter of interest his wife is listed as surname Popper although she was surname Pepper in other places

Is it possible he went under a different surname, his mother's nee name appears to be Sands

I see a David Lipman getting Married to a Millicent Graul in 1911, they married just before the census where they are in Dalston Road and he is a cabinet maker.  They went on to have two children Edward in 1912 and Cyril in 1916.

Edward H born 1912 MMN Gaunt

Cyril S born 1916 died 1918 MMN Gaunt

If this is correct their father was shown as "Russian" born circa 1880

Not sure if this is your David who died 1941, Milly was his wife shown in probate of Muswell Hill

The family are in the 1939 register living in Hackney, London.  Use Edward to search for them.

On the probate record David's death is shown as 19th July 1941.  There is no will as it was administration only.  This is the death record as per the GRO
