Which Medals?
« on: Wednesday 16 September 20 18:14 BST (UK) »
Hi All,

I am trying to figure out who this family is in my family photos and the only clue that may help is the man's medals. Does anybody recognise them?

Many thanks,

MJ

The medals will need to be enlarged. Would his shirt collar give an indication of when the photograph was taken?

Edwardian ? Possibly a former Soldier in the Anglo-Boer War? Or possibly still a Soldier when married?

The suspenders on both (the part from which the medal itself is suspended) is distinctive and is not the straight bar suspender of the Boer war medals (or indeed the Great War medals).

The South Africa 1880 medal may be a contender for the one on the outside?https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Africa_Medal_(1880)

Late Victorian era to Edwardian?
