James Aitken and Mary McCulloch
« on: Wednesday 16 September 20 23:45 BST (UK) »
Trying to look for info on parents of Andrew Aitken (1921-1980), he married Agnes Hopkins Alexander (1923-2016) on 7 September 1939, on the marriage certificate Andrews parents are James Aitken I think he was a coal miner, he was deceased by 1939. Andrews mother was Mary Balfour McCulloch, she was alive in 1939. I think Andrew was also a Coal Miner, Agnes' parents were Hugh Alexander 1883-1958 and Agnes Ballantyne Hopkins 1888-1949. At the time of the marriage Andrew was living in Ayr and Agnes was living in Burns street, Tarbolton. They had 5 kids, all of whom are still living.

Here is their wedding certificate. A very clue-laden doc...

It says that the above noted Plantain Agnes McCann's father is Andrew Aitken and her mother Agnes Mclellan.
