What happened to Beatrice McCarthy, the 2month old  baby at the same address in 1881?
Side tracked to a friendís very interesting Norfolk families. MORGAN, PRATT, HORNOR, SUCKLING, GLEANE etc. And in London DOWNES, du CROZ, MORGAN (same MORGANs as the Norwich lot)

Not that this helps finding her birth reg.

Birdie Florence Briggs had the initial ĎMí when marrying and also on her death entry
searching GRO death index it shows her full name as Birdie Florence Matilda CROSS

Yes, but what if the mother died and Matilda and William took her on?
Was just trying to discount that by finding her later, but I cannot find any of them.   Or a birth registration for Beatrice

I saw that Frederick was baptised as a baby.

I wondered if Birdie was Ďadoptedí as she was baptised so long after her birth.

I can't find a birth registration either!

I am certain that Birdie is related to Matilda, even if she wasn't her mother. The reason being that Birdie was my gt grandmother's cousin on the ROFFEY side and apparently they looked incredibly alike. My mum wonders if they were sisters.

My gt grandmothers father was Frederick ROFFEY, Matilda's brother.

Birth of Beatrice Matilda Briggs McCarthy SAWYER Kensington district 3rd Q 1880 born to a single woman is probably relevant.
