Finally thought to check FS for census (couldn't find them on the National Archives.ie site). Family in 1901:

Still no Mary  Florence and Honora, the wrong family? This family headed up by Florence are also showing Co Cork roots it seems.

Sinann, looks like you may have found a different and correct family for Mary possibly. Certainly would get rid of the confusion on father's name (Laurence and Florence)

Thanks I think it is! combined with the fact that she has a sister Anne which fits with the witness on the wedding registration for mary and Michael. and also i know i have a DNA match between my mother (micheal and Mary's grand-daughter) on ancestory for a descendent of a "William Dewan" from Castlecomer Kilkenny whos age fits perfectly with the boy William Doone on this register.
