The name is Skevington on the original image but the writing is very light

Thank you so much ! I’d been stuck on this information for weeks and you solved it immediately. Unfortunately the Woodgate burial site no longer exists and although some headstones were rescued and taken to the Old Rectory Museum it does appear that Skevingtons wasn’t one of them , which is a real shame

Had a general look in Nottingham and the Loughborough info comes up quite a bit; there is this death notice

Nottingham Review and General Advertiser for the Midland Counties 19 May 1848 

At Loughborough on the 17th inst. at an advanced age, Mr. Wm. Skevington, father of Mr. John Skevington, Chartist leader, of Loughborough.

On checking with just the surname, Leicester Mercury 20th May 1848 has death of William Skevington at Loughborough

All I can find is a death reg. and the burial for a Joseph Skevington 21 May 1848 Green Close Lane age 69

Interestingly, in Notts Joseph and Frances Skeffington/Skevington have 3 children, Frances Elizabeth 1800, John 1802 , Sarah 1804...Nottingham St. Mary

At All Saints Loughborough, Frances, wife of Joseph was buried 6 Oct 1837 age 58

Sarah burial 1806 dau of Joseph
