The PM is anxious to avoid being portrayed as Scrooge.  People are hoping the rule of six could be lifted on Christmas Day to allow families to spend time together.  :)

Sandra

Yes, of course the virus will be far too busy on Christmas Day to bother us.

According to the 'Rule of 6'  there are number of exemptions that can apply, one of them believe it or not is the ability to protest !  Perhaps we can arrange one at Christmas with our nearest and dearest.....   :-X

If the rule of 6 still applies, then we stay at home - daughter and family total 5 - consolation would be that we won't have to eat turkey  :-X   But I might be sad about missing the roast beef on Boxing Day  :'(

And instead of singing "We Shall Overcome" to protest, I propose new words to an old song:

We've been together now for forty years
And we ain't been in such a fix
'Cause our Christmas dinner with the family
Is at risk from the "rule of six"

How's Santa going to deliver all those presents - he'll have to leave some of the reindeer at home.  ;D

On a more serious note, how do you think people are going to react if we're still under these restrictions (or worse) come Christmas?

There may be trouble ahead!! Either by open resistance or more likely by silent defiance. People don't like their Christmas spoiled!
